Recollective Awareness Meditation Residential Retreat
with Greg Bantick
September, Saturday 22 – Wednesday 26, 2012
Recollective Awareness Meditation, teaches through curiosity, gentleness and permission to explore what happens when we meditate. This is a Buddhist approach to meditation that emphasizes our unique experience when we meditate. Exploring and sharing our meditation process, whatever the way we meditate, develops awareness, and familiarity with a wide variety of meditative experiences. We can learn to see more of the conditions contributing to each of these states. It can open up meditation for people who thought they couldn’t meditate and inject renewed energy into the practice of seasoned meditators.
At this retreat there will be periods of sitting meditation, time for silent reflection, talks and group discussion. New perspectives are discovered in small group and individual interviews facilitated by the teacher. Beginning and experienced meditators are welcome.
Greg Bantick is a member of the teaching sangha of the Skillful Meditation Project (www.skillfulmeditation.org) who continues to study and teach with Jason Siff. He has seen significant changes in practitioners of this approach. Reflecting on and sharing our meditation experience helps us understand more what our unique experience of meditation is. Greg was a long time student of Zen with Joko Beck, and is a well known acupuncturist, herbalist and Dad who likes to draw.
