Prof. Huang is an engaging teacher, with a rich clinical and research background. Passionate about classical formulas he will discuss his model of “formula – disease – patient – type” and its application to common clinical presentations.

Dr. Huang has an engaging way of presenting classical formulas. His Master classes are instructive to practitioners just getting started with Chinese herbal medicine and provide seasoned practitioners with real insight into the formulas and how to use them in clinic. This workshop provides a practical path to a deeper understanding of classical Chinese herbal formulas and their use in treating many commonly seen clinical conditions. The emphasis will be on the practical application of formulas, illustrated with case histories and research.

On Saturday Dr. Huang will cover some of the major ingredients in many commonly used classical formulas. He will explain their role and functions in the classical formula tradition.

On Sunday and Monday Dr. Huang will cover many commonly seen clinical conditions within each of the specialties listed. He will go through the various formulas that could be used for each condition, based on the clinical presentation and the unique qualities of the individual formulas.
